Building a human connection

Applied Trust is most widely known for our work with clients on technology-related issues. But for us success is bigger than that. Applied Trust strongly believes in giving back to our community, a philosophy that is reflected in our unique Employee Canon (http://www.atrust.com/company/canon.html). To support this belief, Applied Trust donates cash and in-kind services to local organizations and also participates in and sponsors charitable events.

Most recently, Applied Trust was a Silver Sponsor of the 6th Annual Microsoft “Swing for Sight” Golf Tournament, held June 12, 2006 at the Omni Interlocken Golf Club in Broomfield, Colorado. The tournament benefited the Denver Chapter for The Foundation Fighting Blindness. This organization is dedicated to funding innovative research to prevent, treat, and cure inherited retinal degenerative diseases that lead to blindness and affect more than 9 million people of every age and race in the United States. In addition to sponsoring the event, Applied Trust fielded a team of four golfers to play in the tournament.

“Philanthropy is more than writing a check. It is building a human connection between the community and our employees. We encourage our employees to participate in events such as the golf tournament because it's a fun way to be reminded of the value of giving back to our community.” - Ned McClain, CTO Applied Trust has also regularly sponsored events to benefit the Humane Society of Boulder Valley, including the organization's “Puttin' on the Leash” and “Cause for Paws Walk-a-thon” fundraisers. In 2005, Applied Trust also sponsored the YWCA Annual Golf Tournament, which helped to fund services that protect children, empower women and girls, and work to eliminate racism.

Finally, as an ongoing Business Partner in Boulder County's Culture of Giving initiative, each year Applied Trust donates more than 3% of its net revenue to local charities. Other organizations we have supported over the past five years include Voices for Children,The Children's Hospital Foundation, the Multiple Sclerosis Society, Rocky Mountain PBS, and the Boulder Shelter for the Homeless.
