| Meet Chris McDermott |
 When it comes to having diverse experiences and interests, few can compete with Applied Trust’s Chris McDermott. Not only has Chris lived in all corners of the world, including Dubai, Egypt, Kenya, and London, in addition to New Hampshire, Rhode Island, California, and now Colorado, but his interests are quite varied as well. For starters, he is a big fan of audio books. Chris first got hooked on audio books through his wife, Lexi, but he now listens to books whenever he’s in his car. “It makes driving a little more bearable,” notes Chris. “Listening to a book is always more interesting than the alternative, just staring out the window.” Although he listens to a lot of science fiction books, he also enjoys classics such as Of Mice and Men and Atlas Shrugged. Although Chris studied classical languages in college and knows German, Latin, French, and Ancient Greek, he now pursues his passion for computer networks and systems. Chris’s diverse experiences and interests come into play in his work at Applied Trust as well. His strong skills in both Linux and Windows allow him to be comfortable doing work on either platform. And although he tends to do more Linux-related work, he is responsible for the development lab systems at one of Applied Trust’s largest clients, which are all Windows machines. Chris is also one of Applied Trust’s top Nagios experts, helping to ensure that the software is configured correctly and accurately monitoring our clients’ systems and our own systems. Chris is always willing to jump in wherever he’s needed, making him a huge asset to the Applied Trust team. Chris has a B.A. in Classical Languages from Brown University. In his free time, he enjoys getting out to hike and explore Colorado and hanging out at home with his wife, his dog, and his two cats.
