BOULDER, Colo. -- [July 18, 2002] -- The industry-leading Unix System Administration Handbook, co-authored by Applied Trust Engineering's Trent R. Hein and Ned McClain, has been published in Portuguese, adding to its already impressive list of translated versions. This most recent translation joins other foreign-language editions of the text, including German, Japanese, Polish, Spanish, and Russian. "We're really pleased the book has been translated into yet another language. It demonstrates the universal appeal of Unix and the need for technical expertise in all areas of the world," said Trent R. Hein, one of the authors. The Portuguese version is published by Bookman Companhia Editora of Sao Paolo, Brazil, which purchased the publishing rights from Prentice Hall. Other authors of Unix System Administration Handbook include Evi Nemeth, Garth Snyder, and Scott Seebass. The first edition of Unix System Administration Handbook was published in 1989. Since then, the book has been considered the "bible" of its field. The current edition was published in 2000, at which time it was updated to include Red Hat Linux. Hein, McClain, Nemeth, and Snyder have since published a separate book, Linux Administration Handbook, which is also highly regarded in the industry.
