Boulder, Colo.-based Applied Trust Engineering has been ranked sixth in revenue among network security firms in Boulder and Broomfield counties, according to survey results published by The Boulder County Business Report in its June 22, 2007 edition. As with previous network security surveys published in The Boulder County Business Report, this ranking was based purely on gross revenue and companies that manufacture and sell a wide array of technology products were included without identifying the security-related portion of their revenue. The second criterion used for ranking was number of employees.

As with previous surveys, Applied Trust had the highest revenue growth reported over the time frame measured. Its revenue increased 44% from 2005 to 2006, from $1.6 million to $2.3 million -- ten times the revenue growth reported by the highest-ranked company, Computer Associates International.
Of the top six ranked companies, Applied Trust had the second highest reported number of Certified Information Systems Security Professionals (CISSPs) and SysAdmin, Audit, Network, and Security (SANS) certified individuals.
