Applied Trust founders Trent Hein and Ned McClain recently presented a full-day seminar at the 19th Annual Large Installation Systems Administration (LISA) Conference, held in San Diego. LISA is the premier conference for Unix and Linux system administrators, featuring the latest tools and techniques essential to professional and technical development. The conference is sponsored by USENIX, the Advanced Computing Systems Association, and SAGE, the System Administrators Guild.
"As with every year, the conference was a great opportunity to share our experiences in an educational forum and to learn from the many other accomplished professionals who are part of this event," said Trent R. The week-long conference included more than 50 tutorials, as well as technical presentations and other opportunities to evaluate the newest research, explore technical questions, learn about the latest product innovations, and mingle with peers. Tutorials included system administration topics such as performance tuning, security, and open source technologies.
Hein and McClain taught a full-day session titled "Advanced Topics in System Administration." The tutorial covered web server performance management, security crisis case studies, revision control for system administrators, Linux boxes as VOIP phone switches, database administration, and packet trace analysis.
The 2006 LISA Conference will be held in early December in Washington, D.C.
