Applied Trust's Ned McClain Presents Advanced System Security Seminars in Bangkok

International forum, held this year in Bangkok, is the premier regional technology summit with goal to facilitate knowledge sharing among leaders from the global technology community

BOULDER, Colo. -- [March 13, 2002] -- Ned McClain, co-founder and CTO of Applied Trust Engineering, recently presented two seminars in Bangkok at APRICOT 2002, a forum that facilitates knowledge sharing among peers and leaders from the Internet community worldwide. Since 1996, APRICOT has established itself as Asia Pacific's premier regional technology summit where related the world's top network experts converge to share their knowledge with the current and future architects of Asia's network infrastructure.

McClain, along with Evi Nemeth of the University of Colorado, presented two full-day seminars in advanced system administration and security. The week-long APRICOT summit is comprised of seminars, workshops, tutorials, conference sessions, Birds of a Feather (BOFs), and other forums, all geared towards spreading and sharing the knowledge required to operate the Internet within the Asia Pacific region.

"We were pleased and proud to support APRICOT's mission to develop and advance the skills and understanding necessary to grow a robust Internet infrastructure in the Asia Pacific region," said McClain. "System security is becoming a larger issue with each passing day, and we believe we must help elevate both awareness and expertise on a global basis in order to meet the challenges we are now facing," he added.

The APRICOT event has a one-year technology horizon, meaning that participants work with and discuss the latest technologies currently available and those that are likely to emerge over the next year. The conference's primary goal is to provide a vehicle for the transfer of technology and techniques to the Asia and Pacific Rim. APRICOT has grown each year since its founding in 1996, and this year attracted nearly 1,000 participants from throughout the Pacific rim, including Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia, South Korea and the Philippines.
