Boulder, Colo. – September 29, 2008 – Applied Trust has announced its sponsorship of 10 for Change, a volunteer program designed to inspire Boulder businesses to save money while saving energy. In addition to sponsoring the program, Applied Trust will also be participating in it. “We are excited to both sponsor and participate in this important initiative for Boulder-area businesses, and we feel it’s a natural fit for us in several ways,” said Trent R. Hein, Applied Trust’s CEO. “In addition to focusing on reducing our own energy use as a business, we also have a specific service offering, called Ecoinfrastructure, to help our clients run their IT systems in a more environmentally and energy-friendly manner. The 10 for Change program is an excellent way to raise awareness among local businesses that no change is too small when it comes to saving energy.” The 10 for Change program (www.10forchange.net) was initiated by Hogan & Hartson, Cleantech Solutions, and the City of Boulder. The program challenges Boulder regional businesses to reduce their energy consumption by 10% in one year, beginning on October 1, 2008. Registration is free and entails establishing a baseline to determine how much energy a business is currently using. The 10 for Change program then helps the business track energy consumption for the duration of the challenge. 10 for Change can also provide helpful information on energy management so businesses can easily find the best ways to reduce their energy usage. The program also includes bimonthly breakfast meetings that will serve as an additional way to learn about energy management, and also as a great way to network. Prizes will be awarded at the end of the challenge for the businesses that have succeeded in lowering their energy consumption by the full 10%.
