| Applied Trust Ranks Fifth in Revenue Among Area Network Security Firms |

BOULDER, Colo. -- [June 25, 2008] -- Boulder, Colo.-based Applied Trust Engineering has been ranked fifth in revenue among network security firms in Boulder and Broomfield counties, according to survey results published by The Boulder County Business Report in its June 20, 2008 edition. The ranking was based purely on gross revenue and included both companies that sell a wide array of technology products without identifying the security-related portion of their revenue, as well as companies based outside of Boulder County that have a small number of employees in Boulder. The second criterion for ranking was number of employees. “We’re pleased to find ourselves ranked highly once again among such a varying set of organizations,” said Trent R. Hein, co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Applied Trust. “Applied Trust has experienced consistent, controlled growth since it was founded seven years ago, and it’s rewarding to see our efforts to build a sustainable network security and infrastructure organization recognized locally by being ranked so highly on this list each year.” Applied Trust reported an 18% increase in revenue from 2006 to 2007, from $2.3 million to $2.72 million. Last year the company was ranked sixth on the list, with a revenue increase of 44% from 2005 to 2006, from $1.6 million to $2.3 million. Of the top five ranked companies, Applied Trust had the second highest reported number of Certified Information Systems Security Professionals (CISSPs) and SysAdmin, Audit, Network, and Security (SANS) certified individuals, with nine and two respectively. Applied Trust’s technical expertise includes all areas of network infrastructure and security, including Unix, Linux, Solaris, and Windows. The company’s security offerings include security audits and assessments, IT policy and procedure development, security incident handling, disaster recovery planning, and vulnerability and patch management services. In 2007 and 2008, Applied Trust was named to the Boulder County Business Report’s Mercury 100 List, which ranks the 100 fastest growing private companies in Boulder and Broomfield counties.
