Applied Trust Holds Bacon Appreciation Festival: "Bacon Day IV: Trip of Seals"

BOULDER, Colo. -- [January 28, 2005] -- Applied Trust employees, families, and friends took time on January 28, 2005 to say "thank you!" to bacon with a festival dedicated exclusively to its honor. As part of the celebration, participants brought in food items that contained -- or was in some form -- bacon. Artificial bacon (bac-O's, Veggie Bacon, etc.) was not allowed anywhere near the premises.

Each item was judged in three categories:

  • Best Bacon Presentation
  • Most Tasty Use of Bacon
  • Bacon as a Conduit to the Seal Psyche
Prizes were awarded in each category, including a $150 gift certificate to Home Depot.

Alex implores the group to try his "Bacon Guac Wraps" while Scott looks on.
Sarah, Trent, and Steph are poised to sample the cured-pork delights.
Lynel's "Trifecta" (aka "Surf, Turf, and Swine") hogged the spotlight, winning the Best Bacon Presentation competition, coming in second for the Most Tasty Use of Bacon competition, and tying for first in the Bacon as a Conduit to the Seal Psyche competition.
David's bacon sushi is sure to be the next big hit at Hapa. Mmmmm.
Kasim mentally prepares himself for the imminent rush of nitrates into his blood stream.
The group pauses after a few rounds of tasting.
No one was immune to bacon's high-satiety effects.
Ben and Lynel show off their "Seal of Bacon," which tied for first place in the Bacon as a Conduit to the Seal Psyche competition.
